Robotic structures

One of the big engineering advantages of outer space is that microgravity allows for very large structures. First, however, one must figure out how to deploy the structure. Here's an interesting new approach.

One of the more interesting challenges Liftport has worked with - and likewise the teams that assembled for the space elevator challenge this fall - is that doing simple things in a chaotic environment is one of those harder-than-it-looks deals.
